Railways will run special trains between Mumbai CST and Ernakulam Junction during April-June

Train No. 01065 CST Mumbai-Ernakulam Junction Special will leave CST Mumbai at 4.05 p.m. on Wednesdays from April 3 to June 5 and reach Ernakulam Junction at 9 p.m. the next day (Thursday).

In return direction, Train No. 01066 Ernakulam Junction-CST Mumbai Special will leave Ernakulam Junction at 11.30 p.m. on Thursdays from April 4 to June 6 and reach CST Mumbai at 2 a.m. on Saturdays.

Lokmanya Tilak Terminus to Darbhanga weekly special train:-

Train No. 05514       Lokmanya Tilak Terminus   latest weekly special train will depart LTT on every Sunday at 14.30 hrs from 29.9.2013 to 1.12.2013 (10 trips)

Main Stoppages:-  Kalyan, Nasik Road, Manmad, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, , Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Chheoki, Mughalsarai, Buxar, Ara, Patna, Barauni and Samastipur.

Indirect passenger fare hike; 67 new express trains

According to the Rail Budget 2013, there will be no direct hike in passenger fares, however, the budget shocked travelers by increasing reservation fee, cancellation charges and tatkal ticket rates.

Passengers have to pay when travel by super fast express, as the government has increased supplementary charges.

The railways minister has announced 67 new express trains and 27 new passenger trains,

the railways will also launch pilot project on select trains to facilitate passengers to contact on board staff through SMS/phone call/e-mail for coach cleanliness 

Become JTBS to book unreserved ticket for Indian railway

JTBS, or Jan Sadharan Ticket Booking Sevak, is the person who sells unreserved Railway tickets through computerized Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS), from his/her own premises on behalf of Indian Railways. The concept of JTBS is brought to existence to shorten the long queues at Railway counters and to help passengers in getting their tickets comfortably at a nearby place.
As stated in the advertisement, JTBS is entitled to charge Re. 1 per ticket as commission from the passengers. Though low, but not bad as there is no shortage of passengers. Just think of long queues at Railway ticket counters and overloaded trains and you’ll realize how profitable it can be. If the location of JTBS counter is at a place that is easily approachable and popular, there is surely a good earning potential.
Eligibility
One needs not to be very highly qualified to become a JTBS. The applicant must be minimum 18 years of age and a matriculation certificate holder. Also, applicant must be a local resident of the locality/town for which he/she is applying.

Trains to run at 200 kmph from Delhi-Mumbai special railway

Much before special railway of bullet trains become a reality, travel time between Delhi and Mumbai is likely to reduce substantially with railways planning to launch semi-high speed trains with a top speed of 200 kmph. A railway official said a study to identify the need to strengthen the infrastructure for this service was nearing completion and work would start soon. The services could start by 2017. (Delhi-Mumbai special railway )

DFC managing director R K Gupta said the dedicated lines for freight will decongest the existing tracks. Hubli station now to get multifunctional complex

A multifunctional complex will soon come up at the Hubli railway station with the area marked for the complex already handed over to the construction agencies. In addition, eight more stations have been identified for the construction of such complexes.

Bellary, Davangere, Shimoga, Tumkur, Yeshwantpur, Bangarpet, Arsikere, and Birur have also been identified for setting up of multifunctional complexes

Pune Railway Station to be Upgraded

The Pune railway authorities have recently increased the length of the platform number six. Now, trains having capacity to carry more passengers can stop at Pune railway station. The compartments of the existing trains can be increased so that more passengers can travel from Pune railway station.

The station is expected to get 40 to 45 modern CCTV cameras with a software which will recognise the face of a person who often visits the railway station and that will help the railway police officials to keep a close watch suspicious persons.

The Central Railway has listed Pune railway station among seven stations where a cleanliness manual will be maintained and the divisional railway manager will be monitoring the cleanliness.
